Zycus Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), a provider of automated purchasing and supply content management solutions, has announced that General Electric has selected Zycus's automated classification engine (AutoClass) to further drive company-wide adoption of UNSPSC and to enhance spend analyses. The solution, available in real-time and batch classification modes, is designed for use by thousands of requisitioners across the company. AutoClass classifies all catalog and non-catalog purchases at the source, and GE users employ AutoClass the software to classify procurement requests. According to a press release, results are received within seconds and assist in providing granular spend classification for GE's purchases. AutoClass also classifies historical purchase data and inventory data.
